I am on a water-only diet (which is exactly as it sounds…no food…only water…for an undecided amount of time).
For the past 2 days I have had nothing to eat, but I have been drinking loads of water…on the 2nd day I had one herbal tea (5 cals per serving)
I barely lost a pound after the 1st day and after the 2nd…nothing :(

Normally when I do this the pounds just keep melting off in no time, so I'm wondering if my body has adjusted to the crash dieting thereby inhibiting weight loss, or could it be something else. Today (3rd day), I started my period… could that be the reason I haven't really lost any weight yet? Should I continue with the diet??

I know it's unhealthy, but it's fast and it works and it's tolerable.

crash diets are extremely unhealthy for the body. They can actually ruin parts of your body and cause organs to shut down.

I would go to your doctor or see a nutritionist so you can decide on a healthy and affective diet.

Ok I am tired of answers that say eat healthy and exersize frequently and that solves all the problems well lets snap back into reality my dad has Diabetes and we have been eating and exersizing like crazy for 5 years now and I have not lost a single pound I am some what over weight and very angry about this I want someone who knows what they are talking about to help me not just give me the same thing over and over again I want to know the best way to lose weight like herbal supplements or something like that I really appreciate it
Ok when it comes to eating I eat properly I do not over eat and I don't smoke and I don't have Diabetes my mom is overweight though and I am thinking it might be genetics but I later found out that she just eats too much I am a big health freak and I do not revolve my world around food if possible it is the exact opposite I would forget to eat if not for my dad.

Okay first I must insist of a dumb answer…

You are not overweight, it is psychology. If you believe in your self you will lose 10 pounds a week.

Now…

My mom is diabetic. She can be considered overweight. Now since you don't want a 'diet and exercise' response, I must say she doesn't smoke.

The whole point is not just to change to healthier foods, but less food overall. If less cals are consumed, the fat will start to be burned.

Nowadays, most diet pills are a combo of herbal supplements. Are they really still addictive? Do you think they can be used effectively to lose weight? Have we just not gotten over Ephedra and the diet pills of the "olden days"? What's so bad about diet pills?

Address all the issues of weight loss - "magic pills", needing to exercise even though you may find success with a diet pill, the psychology of diet pills and dieting and how those factors contribute to the good or bad of diet pills.

I'm asking this out of curiousity of what answers it will solicit, not really for my own personal need or anything.

Diet pills are still not the long term answer to good health and many can cause negative side effects.

The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:

*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity. Get a diet and fitness calculator that you can put on your computer or cell phone. This will allow you to easily calculate this formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.

Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as white potatoes) and drink lots of water.

Question Details: i m 25 yrs i have irregular mensturation by taking medicine (hempushpa) herbal i have regular but my problem is i m trying from 4 months to control my over weight beacause during irregulation i became over weight from 48 to 60 kg now i m trying my best but no result i m finding from 4 month i have joined gym too but weight is same and even not eating but and i have controled my diet and depend on salad,soup, fruits and cornflakes etc.pls help me how should i remove this excess fat

The sad truth is that it is just like most any woman. The news that you are looking for though is this: STAY away from bad carbs. Check the glycemic index for carbohydrates. Donuts are bad carbs and have bad glycemic levels. Stay away from carbs with high glycemic levels.

The weight gain causes your PCOS to worsen. Because the PCOS has worsened, you will gain more weight.. This is a yo-yo cause and effect situation. This also hampers fertility.

Going to the gym is great. Remember that muscles have more weight than fat. Muscles weight is good for you though. Just don't become an obsessive body builder.

I asked for weightloss success stories and one person told me herbal live worked when weight watchers didn’t and invited me to e-mail him/her for more info……. but their e-mail was herballife@________.com, So naturally I thought it may be spam.
Does anyone know if herbal life works?

I did herballife for a while once and it worked, except you had to take so many pills and powder and it all tasted so bad. I felt like a walking vitamin.I had that vitmain taste in my mouth all day. It was awful. Weight Watchers has really worked for me and it is realistic. You can eat whatever you waht so if you have a fmaily, you don’t have to cook seperate meals or sit and watch everyone eat while you sip on your powdered goo.

Damiana:
Damiana has been widely used as an aphrodisiac in Mexico for men and women.

The use of damiana as an aphrodisiac is somewhat controversial because there is no scientific evidence that it works and yet it has been widely promoted as a sexual stimulant.
Damiana is also used for asthma, anxiety, depression, headache, and menstrual disorders, however, there is no scientific evidence that it works for these conditions.

Catnip:
Taken orally, catnip is most commonly used in connection with anxiety, insomnia, and nervousness. It contains a substance, known as nepetalactone, which has a sedative effect in humans. (Nepetalactone is very similar to valepotriate found in valerian, a more commonly used herbal sedative.) Due to this effect, catnip may also be used to help lessen migraine headaches. Catnip has also been used historically to relieve stomach complaints such as colic, cramps, gas, and indigestion because chemicals in it may have muscle-relaxing, or antispasmodic, effects.
Topically, catnip has often been used to reduce swelling ociated with arthritis, hemorrhoids, and soft tissue injuries.

Milfoil:
Milfoil is used to treat arthritis, colds and fevers. Milfoil is also used to treat hypertension and lack of appetite. Milfoil is a general tonic for the cardio-vascular system and helps to lower blood pressure.
Because of its anti-bacterial properties, milfoil is used to treat dysentary and diarrhoea.
Milfoil is used by women to ease menstruation.

Raspberry leaf :
Raspberry leaf is also used for the following:
To aid fertility.
To promote a plentiful supply of breastmilk.
To help stop excess bleeding after birth.
To treat diarrhoea.
To regulate irregular menstrual cycle and decreases heavy periods.
To relieve sore throats.
To reduce fever.
Fenugreek seeds:
Fenugreek is a bitter herb that increases milk-flow, stimulates the uterus, soothes irritated tissues, lowers fever, reduces blood sugar, improves digestion, promotes healing, and has laxative, expectorant, diuretic, anti-parasitic and anti-tumor effects.

Fenugreek sprouts are also used to promote hair growth, especially in men.

The seeds are rich in mucilage (glactomannans), lipids, protein, protease inhibitors. Various steroid saponins are present (aglycone), furostanol glycosides, small amounts of alkaloid and steroidal peptide.
# Internal use

* Fenugreek is used internally for a variety of problems, such as to treat diabetes in adults (late-onset diabetes), poor digestion, gastric inflammation, digestive disorders and tuberculosis.
* It is also used for painful menstruation, labor pains and insufficient lactation.
* Men on the other hand benefit from it for loss of libido, painful testicles and premature .
* It is often used for weight loss, anorexia and for poor appetite.
* In Chinese medicine it is used for kidney related pain - such as back ache, as well as premature , loss of libido, painful testicles, hernia, painful menstruation and edema of the legs.
* In Ayurvedic medicine it is used for rejuvenation and as an aphrodisiac, as well as for digestive and bronchial complaints, gout and arthritis.
* Fresh Fenugreek leaves are cooked as a vegetable curry and are also dried and used to flavor vegetable dishes.
* The seeds are roasted and ground for use in curry powder, pickles, stews and fried foods.
* The seed sprouts are also eaten as a salad.
External use

* It is used externally for skin inflammations, ulcers, boils, eczema and cellulite.
