I've often had this problem whenever i drink tea but drinking china fujian oolong tea to be exact makes me answer nature's call too often but i like the fact that the urine color is almost clear by the end of the day. Is this good?

Diuretic effect.

It would be nice to know somewhere that has information about the uses and preparation of herbs.

I'm really surprised that the first answerer gave you a link stating that chinese medicine is lacking scientifically, doesn't work or is "hocus pocus" for lack of better words. There are many studies done on Chinese herbs and there would be many more if funding for studies were available.
I wonder if he actually openmindedly researched it himself or whether he just blindly followed this opinion off a skeptic's website -something like Quackwatch for example?

I also wonder if your first answerer is aware that many prescription medicines are plant based so that when he gets medication from his M.D he is sometimes getting herbal medicine including Tamiflu. The base material for tamiflu is shikimic acid that was extracted from Star Anise until recently when a way of making shikimic acid artificially was found.

Dong Quai Root (Angelica sinensis) 550.00 mg

I ride my bicycle to and from work on a daily basis. I’ve been taking a Chinese herb, via GNC - Dong Quai Root (Angelica sinensis) 550.00 mg.

I noticed a huge improvement in my endurance and speed. For example, my roommate was driving her “2006 Hyundai Tiburon GT V6” coupe, and I managed to barely keep up with her on my bicycle. It was on a residential road, for about 3 miles.

Are there any negative side effects?

I am an alternative medicinal therapist. There are no bad side effects from this BUT, when taking herbal medicines you must have what is called a 'rest period' from them. I always advise my patients that after every 4 to 6 weeks they must stop them for one week. You should do the same. The only exception is Garlic and Evening Primrose oils, these can be taken all year round. The herb you are taking is usually taken for 'woman's' problems why don't you try Ginseng instead. It's not a herb I would prescribe for an energy boost.

Can chinese herbal medicine or acupuncture help with the following?

*Acid reflux/Chronic gastritis
*Lightheadedness, anxiety, drowsiness & lowsyness, Hot (Feverlike) flushes in the body, fatigue.
*Vestibular nerve damage
*Infections (such as ear infections)….

Any insight or experiences?

I know people who've used traditional Chinese medicine for fatigue and also for chronic pain. I would urge anyone using herbal medicine to check with their doctor if they are on prescription medications. For example, some herbs will lessen the effect of medications so that the person isn't getting the proper dosage. Some herbs interact badly with prescription medications.

Where acupuncture is concerned, I would want to be sure they are using disposable needles which have not been used previously. I know of one person who got hepatitis from an unscrupulous acupuncturist. In some states, acupuncturists are licensed. I would check around and be sure of the providers reputation before letting them work on me.

Moreover, can the tea leafs be kept overnight dipped in little bit water so that they are ready & can leave color the next morning ?

When I was in China, some people would use the same tea leaves for days, adding boiled water to the same jar (yes, they use a jar) again and again. I think for black tea and cheap green tea this is fine. But for very expensive tea, there are traditional protocols. In a traditional tea pouring service, they actually don't use the first pot at all. They dump it out. But after the second and third steeping, it's done.

Hi

I'm 14 weeks pregnant and still getting nausea in the morning. my husband took me into a chinese herbal store in our local shopping Mall, and she prescribed me something, it is a powder to take disolved with warm water twice a day. they assured me it was safe to take for pregnancy and i did see a chinese consultant. she said it would also help sort out my digestive system and help me to intake my nutrients better.

anyone any advice? i had a sudden wave of paranoia!

Do you have the name of the herb or herbs (since it's powder form, it can be a combination of few herbs together)? They are many chinese herbs and some are ok to take in pregancy and some are not.

there is a chinese herb store not too far from my house. i was wondering your thoughts on the products they sell. i was browsing the other day and i saw they have herbal pills, herbs, teas for everything such as digestion, weight loss and many other problems that i would like to solve. please advise if the stores are worth a try and if the herbs might be good with no side effects.

Sounds fine. If you are looking for herbal pills/tablets, they are generally safe and just make sure that the brand you purchase is from a reputable company and there is no added drugs inside and they test for heavy metals, bacteria etc. For example good Chinese herbal companies can be found here: http://www.holisticchineseherbs.com

If you are looking for a custom made herbal formula, it would be best to have one made for you by a certified/licensed herbalist.

Just wondering if anyone has been success in conceiving using acupuncture and Chinese herbs. I have just started trying this after TTC#1 for 18 months. I have just finished trialing clomid for 6 months without success (it dried up my CM). I'm a bit nervous about moving on to more invasive procedures (injectables and IUI) . I feel like I am losing control of my menstral cycle and hope chinese medicine will help me regulate my menstral cycle and enable me to conceive.

I tried clomid to it did not work. come to hide out my tubes were blocked. my ob did a hsg. this unblocks your tubes.so ask your ob about this. if your tubes are blocked clomid will not do a thing. after the hsg i have a beautiful baby girl..
